The channel is no bigger than the 14-2 electrical cable that it will contain. We'll cover it with a steel plate to prevent damage from future nailing.

Here is a problem that I long expected. The route for the ceiling fan wiring crosses multiple strategic LVL members. Nuts! Careful carpentry lies ahead before the electrician starts on this.

The new panels for the balcony are fabricated and mounted. I asked for the center stiles as I felt it would line up well with the ceiling beam and new fireplace panels.
